It is with great pleasure that The Hungerford Club can announce the fundraising on The Good Exchange for the defibrillator has been successful with the full amount raised.
The provision of a defibrillator has been discussed and planned for some time. We started the fund raising in early June and the response to our appeal has been fantastic.
Now that we have achieved this important milestone, we can go ahead with the purchase and installation. We will keep everybody informed on progress.
News from The Steward
For the next few couple of weeks the bar will have two guest ales.
Hop Father – 3.9%
Brewed by the Why Valley Brewery situated in the heart of Herefordshire. This is a deliciously hoppy session I.P.A. featuring Mosaic, Summit, Cascade, Pilot and Azacca hops which join forces to ‘Hopfather’ some seriously hoppy clout. This session IPA also boasts a new vibrant gold colour together with subtle malt overtones, zesty fruit flavours and a refreshingly crisp finish.
Lord Marples – 4.0%
A surprisingly smooth bitter with light toffee and caramel notes. Lord Marples was the first ever Thornbridge beer! Brewed in 2005 at the Hall Brewery. It pours an attractive mahogany, bringing forth flavours of honey and caramel with just a light bitterness in the finish to keep it balanced. It’s named after Mr Marples, a former owner of Thornbridge Hall, who enjoyed using the title of Lord while never quite achieving it officially!
Sunday 11th July promises to be a long and exciting day of sport. The Wimbledon’s Men’s singles and Mixed doubles finals are scheduled for the early afternoon, preceding England’s attempt to win a first major football tournament in 55 years! Both events will be available to watch at the club with the bar will be open from 12pm.
Debbie and Gary will be serving food from late afternoon. Members are not obliged but also invited to bring a dish of their choosing. For those who are unable to do so there will be a charity box for contributions to the defibrillator fund.
We look forward to seeing you on Sunday.
